Report merganser broods here

Mergansers are now returning to Crystal Lake! The CLWA team captured the first brood, consisting of 8 chicks, on June 12. Once again this summer, the CLWA is carrying out a swimmer's itch control program that involves trapping and relocating merganser broods to other water bodies. YOU CAN HELP THE TRAPPING TEAM BY REPORTING SIGHTINGS OF BROODS TO THIS ONLINE FORM [LINK HERE]. This process enables the team to make a quick response for successul removal of all merganser broods that appear on Crystal Lake in 2019. It is not necessary to report individual adult mergansers, unless you observe a hen behaving in a way that suggests a nest location. (Mergansers nest high in hollow trees which may be some distance from the lake.)
